Huntington Angels Network  |  brand identity & website design

In the fall of 2020, I joined Scout, Northeastern University's student-led design studio, as a studio designer. Working alongside five other designers and developers, my team and I rebranded the student-led venture capital organization Huntington Angels Network and created a new marketing website.

Huntington Angels Network's (HAN) goal was to increase their professionalism and credibility through their brand identity. As a student organization connecting with professional investors and ventures, establishing trustworthiness and reliability was incredibly important. To express these values, my Scout team and I created a clean and more minimal design, with pops of bolder colors and color overlays that made the website inviting.

The design strategy below is a snapshot of the various elements that comprised our design. The left side demonstrates the typeface usage and header treatment, while the right features the CTA buttons and a color overlay example.

We redesigned HAN's logo to make it more modern, and fit with their new visual identity. HAN had a sentimental connection to their existing wing logo, so we cleaned up the illustration, making it more geometric, and paired the wing with the 'Huntington Angels Network' lockup in URW DIN.

To create the marketing website, my team and I first designed a site map and a set of low-fidelity wireframes, which helped us to organize HAN's content and arrange it in a way that was clear, straightforward, and easy to navigate.

Finally, we designed high-fidelity wireframes, incorporating color and visual elements to our low-fidelity wireframes. We intentionally placed the color overlays to draw attention to the content, and add personality to the professional design.
